High school students discuss nuclear weapons

Programs

Morningside Center (formerly ESR Metro) works in public schools and community organizations throughout New York City to help teachers, young people, and parents build skills, knowledge, and community.

Through our programs, people learn how to solve conflicts nonviolently, challenge bias, communicate better, think critically, and work together to build a more just, peaceful, and democratic society. The skills we teach improve students' social and emotional competency. They also have a demonstrated positive effect on students' academic performance.

In all our programs, we use interactive approaches that value the learner's experiences, emphasizing inquiry, dialogue, and thoughtful reflection.

Morningside Center's work focuses in these areas: conflict resolution and diversity; and social awareness and action.
